KITTIE: Detroit Show Postponed

October 9, 2005

As a result of the pending visa issues regarding the band, Canadian metal act KITTIE have postponed their Detroit, Michigan concert (at Harpo's) to November 26 from the previously announced October 15. All tickets bought for the original date will be honored for the November 26 show.

As previously reported, KITTIE played their debut gig with their new lineup — featuring new guitarist Tara McLeod, formerly with Strathroy, Ontario area band SHERRY, and bassist Trish Doan, who played with London, Ontario rockers HER — on Sept. 29 at Call the Office in London, Ontario. Check out pictures at KittieRocks.com. The band's scheduled appearance at the Windy City Invitational festival in Chicago on October 1 was cancelled after the group's frontwoman Morgan Lander was turned back at the U.S.-Canadian border over "a perceived visa complication."

KITTIE, who parted ways with guitarist Lisa Marx and bassist Jennifer Arroyo earlier in the year, are currently unsigned, having split with Artemis Records in March "due to a proposed amendment to the recording budget for the pending fourth KITTIE album," according to a post on the band's web site. The band's most recent album, "Until the End", was released in July 2004.

KITTIE will soon release a downloadable EP to introduce new material.
